some recent art things

recently, i've done some fancy new painting and drawing from life, which isn't top notch yet, but its getting better. this is technically a student's blog after all, and since lack of growth is unlife, i can admit to my skillset still being on the way up.
fist is one of ten portraits (the only one in color) which i did for my media techniques class of my friend Stephanie Leap.
she is pretty awesome, so here is hoping i do her justice.

next we have some observational drawings i did at Occupy Boston last friday as part of my human figure in illustration class. it was rainy and miserable, and lots of people were angry. at their stepfathers, or at the suited men walking by. the doggy was nice though

there were some really nice people there though, who shared umbrellas and made conversation.
also, bearded lady and patches, who were some of the more interesting characters there.

and lastly, a gift for my friend James Rossi, a gentlefellow in the Brokensea audio productions,
that was playing the soundbit of the moon landing. i didnt quite get all of it in there so it would translate as "-tep for man, one giant leap for ma-"

i think

that's all folks, have a nice weekend!

the new year; aka. heres hoping it doesn't suck

alrighty then kiddies, we have a batch cooking up for 2011

a) the big guns = muckraker is back in production. i know its been dicey, and i hate the tease as much as any of you, but trust me, this baby is long overdue and its about time i get it out of my system

b) the new kid = mister blake, brand spanking new character who deserves a spot somewhere in the stars this year. i mean, who doesn't love a hired killer. with any luck, he'll get a cameo somewhere, or at the very least an one-shot

c) expansion pack = near legend is an eventual matter. i'm still working on her script, but being the optimistic twit i am, i'm thinking that there's something more than a pilot in the works.

d) i might have a short autobiographical film put together by the end of the semester.
maybe...

also, i've got a friend in California (stupid spellcheck forcing the capital letters on me) who is currently a film student. this man's work is really witty, and someday i hope to do a joint project with him. right now, im working on a non profit promotional etching for his upcoming short "ninja noir," which we're all chomping our nails for. no doubt we're looking at another knockout.

wowza, it is two thirty and i still have an essay to finish for written comp that i'll post when done
i'll do it in the morning. maybe listen to this song one last time before i close the laptop

i'm excited about sleeping in a bed tonight :)
ciao!

its that time of year, and so i figured "why not give out something special."
here they are folks, preliminary character designs for the Scientist and our man Charlie O
this guy (nicknamed slug) is a total skeezball, but dont worry because that was totally intentional. or at least thats what i plan to tell my public. i cant remember if these stains were supposed to be oil or blood...

you know, its not really that important after all. next slide!

Charlie changed a lot since conception. like, his temperature mustve risen, since we never see him this clothed in the ten pages i drew. maybe he just realized that longsleeved shirts get caught in machinery easier? im still not done with this fellah though, by the end of my graphic novella when it comes out, our boy could be emo haired and fedora-ed (i have a nasty tendency to do that to my protagonists, just ask miles)

in other news today, i just finished an one shot script for a Superman-Lovecraft crossover story taking place in innsmouth. this is a secret though, as A} copyright isnt up yet and B} its for my brother's holiday present. so yeah... if youre good, i may just post that up here too, since its a nonprofit project. so maybe...

its under consideration
